My learning style is Visual Learner. But what is a learning style ? "Learning styles are various approaches or ways of learning. They involve educating methods, particular to an individual, that are presumed to allow that individual to learn best."
I learn the best when I visualise them. I can use my learning style to learn better by trying to see if I can learn using the other learning styles, like Audio learner, for example to study French, I could try to use one of those CD's that teach you another language, so I could listen to that and maybe see if I improve in class.
My learning style impact my creations because if I make a power point I put in pictures so people can understand it better and visualise it and for me it's easier to explain what the picture is, by pointing at it, and explaining it.
My learning style impact my life because, I'm not a very "hands-on" person, If I'm asked to build something in class, it probably won't be so good, also in I'm asked to listen to something and write a reflection or a summary of what they said, that probably won't be so good either because I will probably forget what they said in less than 20 seconds, but if I'm asked to explain a picture, that would be better than the hands-on and the audio reflection. Also I remember things better when I read them/see them, I can remember thing if a teacher is explaining it in class and I really really concentrate and take notes. Also I'm not a very good listener, like, I do listen, but i forget information very easy, so if teachers are speaking in class, and they are saying something important then, I take notes, so that I can revise after.
If I don't take notes, then I will forget what the teacher said, and not be able to answer any questions on a quiz about it, because, if I don't have it written down then I won't revise it, that is why, most of the time in class I take some quick notes that will remind me, and then when I'm revising write down some more things in detail.
I never actually realised I was a visual learner until we did this quiz, and I reflected on it, and I realised that, I actually do learn better when I see pictures, or I write down things, or I see a written explanation in detail. Visualising it helps me understand what it's trying to explain a lot better. Some definitions of visual learning are "Visual learning is a teaching and learning style in which ideas, concepts, data and other information are associated with images and techniques."
